Site History:
PSME HW decay class 2,3,and 5 samples that are analysed in the TN025 is the HJ Andrews "High 15" area. Phil Sollins collected this material and the citation is Sollins, Phillip; Cline, Steven P.; Verhoeven, Thomas; Sachs, Donald; Spycher, Gody. 1987. Patterns of log decay in old-growth Douglas-fir forests. Canadian Journal of Forest Research. 17(12): 1585-1595. HJA publication #720 The "standards" are discussed at the top of page 1588. Also - one final oddity - the paper refers to the location as the "Rge. 5E, tp. 15S, sec.15" (Range and township) - but I had heard that the "High 15" name for the WS 6,7,8 area was an old nomenclature and that the 15th section had been corrected and moved off the HJA - though the name stuck. So the cited location might be anachronistic, and incorrect.
