KEYWORDS:
habitats, community structure, silviculture, ecology, biomass, resource management, disturbance, ecosystems, invertebrates
PURPOSE:
To provide data on the abundance and diversity of litter and bark-dwelling arthropods as ecological indicators of forest conditions. The bark arthropod data were also collected to provide information on the potential food availability to bark-gleaning birds.
METHODS:
Experimental Design - TS018:
Description: Block design. Randomized block, split-plot design, repeated over two years.
Field Methods - TS018 :
Description: Bark and litter traps
Laboratory Methods - TS018 :
Description: Arthropod identification and biomass determination using a microscope.
Statistical Methods - TS018 :
Description: SAS, Statistical Analysis System.
Permanent Plots - TS018:
Description: Arthropods collected within DEMO permanent vegetation plots.
