PURPOSE:
To document the locations of the meteorological stations for use with research projects, for use with data collected at these sites, and in hydrological models.
METHODS:
Processing Procedures - MS026:
Description: MS02601: Met Station Locations from 2002, GPS points were extracted from the GPSPOINTS data set provided by Craig Creel. The data was collected using Pathfinder GPS units, with 4 satellites, with 3D fixes.
Instrumentation: GPS,
Citation: Originator: Craig Creel Publication_Date: Unknown Title: Forest Science Data Bank GP01/gpspoints, Geospatial_Data_Presentation_Form: spreadsheet, Other_Citation_Details: This is the FSDB database that contains the accuracy assesment information for the points in this file.
Processing Procedures - MS026 (1):
Description: MS02602: Rain Gages, digitized in-house from USFS Primary Base Series topographic maps.
Instrumentation: good. GPS locations are available for some of these rain gages in the following coverages: metstation, metin The source coverage is gpspoints. This data set contains more detailed information and the locational data may be updated at a later time frame.

Processing Procedures - MS026 (2):
Description: MS02603: Air/Soil/Water sensors, digitized in-house from a variety of hardcopy loction maps. Process_Date: 12/30/1992 Coverage was converted to a shapefile and projected to Nad83 Datum. Additional points were added from description by Data Managers, and by GPS points (stream gage locations). Process_Date: 3/2007
Instrumentation: Some data as GPS'ed while others were digitized from maps. Attribute added to database file with source for individual point locations. (source) See entity attribute for description Sensor locations were updated 3/2007 and should be complete.
Citation: MS001
Processing Procedures - MS026 (3):
Description: MS02604: Meteorological Instruments for the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest that are not located within the benchmark or secondary meterological weather station. (These are specific instrument sites that have been located with GPS. They are associated with the benchmark meterological sites). See metstation coverage for benchmark and secondary stations) GPS points were extracted from the GPSPOINTS data set provided by Craig Creel. The data was collected using Pathfinder GPS units, with 4 satellites, with 3D fixes.
