The cross section starting point (zero horizontal coordinate) is always located on the right bank of the stream, so cross-section plots created from the data will be upstream views unless the horizontal axis is reversed.
Spatial resolution of the cross-section survey data is variable, particularly for dates prior to 1986. In 1986, surveying protocols were standardized, and the horizontal spacing of elevation data points was set at 0.5 m, plus additional points as needed to capture abrupt changes in slope. See Faustini (2000) for further details.
Data for 1997 and 1998 were not part of the GS002 database at the time this database was created, and were entered and quality-checked by John Faustini.
